In celebration of VIAGE’s 15th anniversary, we have joined forces with two Brussels artisan makers to mark this milestone in the sweetest way. papabubble and Concept Chocolate create exclusive delicacies tailored to the client’s wishes. The perfect fit for our anniversary bash! 

Naturally we’re pulling out all the stops for this anniversary and that is why we enlisted the help of these two local confectionery artists to create personalised treats especially for the sugarheads among us.

A rainbow of colours

papabubble is known for its handmade, artistic sweets. The concept was developed by two Australians in 2004 and realised in Barcelona. In late 2011, the friends Sophie and Silvana brought it to Belgium. They learned the 300-year old production process in Spain and then applied it in their Brussels workshop.

With passion and craftsmanship, their team transforms bubbling pots of sugar, a rainbow of natural colours and an array of aromas from fruits, plants and spices into personalised sweet creations. You won’t find any animal-based ingredients here — just locally sourced ones with a guaranteed, traceable origin. In addition to classic flavours there’s also room for original creations such as rose lychee or spicy cinnamon. Curious to find out what they whipped up especially for VIAGE?

A flavour explosion

Talk treats in Belgium and the first thing that comes to mind is chocolate. That’s always a treat for your taste buds. Concept Chocolate has gained international recognition for its custom-tailored chocolate creations. Since the company’s inception in 1986, chocolatier Maxime Pliester has combined traditional Belgian craftsmanship with modern techniques to create unique pralines and chocolate bars. What’s more, in January 2020, Concept Chocolate obtained the Green Key ecolabel, a prestigious certification for tourism businesses demonstrating outstanding environmental responsibility. They are the only chocolaterie in the world to obtain this certification.

The chocolatier’s workshop is open to the public, affording his customers a glimpse into his craft, as well as the captivating journey of the cacao bean, from pod to finished chocolate product.
