Casual Chic

Casual Chic

Planning a nice evening out at VIAGE? Fantastic! But before you go running out the door we’d like to remind you of our dress code: casual chic. Sounds fancy, doesn’t it? But what does it mean exactly? Or more importantly: what do you have to wear to steal the show without being over- or underdressed?

Casual chic is all about balance. It’s not a fashion show but you still want to look nice. Think stylish, well-groomed but also comfortable enough to feel great all evening long. Here are a few tips to get you started, for the ladies and the men.

For the men

Guys, we get it. Sometimes it seems as if your only choices are a suit or a pair of jeans you’ve been wearing since your school days. Well, casual chic is the middle ground between the two. Think of a nice pair of trousers (so definitely leave those sweatpants at home), paired with a stylish shirt or a well-fitting T-shirt. A blazer is always a great idea to add a bit of extra flair to your outfit.

Sneakers? Yes, why not, but go for a stylish pair and avoid worn-out shoes with more life experience than their owner. And although it’s been a great summer, let’s save the flip-flops and beach looks for a day by the sea, not an evening out at VIAGE. The point is to look well-kept and elegant without being too casual. So forget about that old hoodie and those pyjamas.

Casual also means comfortable fabrics, such as cotton or linen. But be careful: casual chic takes looking after. That means no wrinkles and no stains from your previous pizza night. Being well-groomed is half the job, you just need to marry style with comfort.

For the ladies

Ladies, casual chic is your chance to shine without looking as if you’re attending a gala dinner. Think of a nice blouse or an elegant top combined with a cute skirt or stylish pants. Whether you opt for a pair of heels or trendy flats, go for comfortable footwear. A dress is also a viable option but leave the glitter ball gown at home (unless you’re on a secret mission to win Miss Viage).

Your accessory game can be on point but keep it subtle. A nice necklace, a watch or even a chic hat if you have the courage to wear one - it’s all about the details that add a touch of flair without making your outfit too busy.

Whatever you choose, casual chic means luxurious fabrics such as cotton, linen or even a bit of silk, and always tidy. Looking fresh is a must and a subtle fragrance can provide the finishing touch. Of course, there's no need to empty your favourite bottle of perfume but a subtle hint works wonders.

Casual chic = stylish comfort

So lay out your nicest but not over-the-top outfit and come to VIAGE for a grandiose evening in style. Don’t go overboard with your outfit, the idea is simply to feel comfortable and look good. Who knows, you may catch everyone’s eye as the evening’s best-dressed guest!

See you soon, style kings and queens!
