Sustainability at work

Last February, EcoVadis awarded VIAGE a silver medal. This recognition places us among the top 15 percent of all companies assessed worldwide, a clear sign that our commitment to people, the planet and ethical business practices is making a real impact.

For those unfamiliar with EcoVadis: this leading international assessment platform reviews thousands of companies each year based on their sustainability policies and practices. The evaluation focuses on four key areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The system is rigorous, transparent and aligned with global standards such as those of the United Nations, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and ISO 26000. An EcoVadis score is not about collecting medals, it is an internationally recognised benchmark of sustainable entrepreneurship.

A strong start

We achieved a score of 93, just shy of the gold threshold, which begins at 95. Naturally, we take some pride in that but above all it is a source of motivation. Those two points are not a ceiling but a springboard. Earning silver means we already outperform 85 percent of all assessed companies. Nevertheless, it is also an unmistakable indication that there is still room for improvement. The EcoVadis analysis gave us a number of valuable insights, showing where we are strong and where we can make targeted improvements to become even more sustainable.

Sustainability as a guiding principle

This recognition is not the end of the road but merely a milestone along the way. At VIAGE, we don’t see sustainability as a project but as a mindset and a way of working. It’s about the choices we make every day: how we work with suppliers, save energy, involve colleagues and contribute to a healthier future for the communities we are part of. The EcoVadis score gives us direction. We see it as a compass that helps us stay sharp, improve where needed and steadily increase our impact.

Together on the path to gold

We want to thank everyone who contributed to this process. Sustainability is not a solo effort but something we do together, not just within our organisation but also with partners, suppliers and customers. This silver medal is a recognition of where we are today. We keep moving forward with determination, commitment and – as always – a generous dose of VIAGE energy. We have gold in our sights.
