Together for a greener future

On Friday 20 September some of our VIAGE staff are taking part in World Cleanup Day. This annual worldwide initiative brings together millions of people to clean up their surroundings and thereby contribute to a cleaner, healthier planet.
Our VIAGE team will also roll up their sleeves and clean up litter and waste in Brussels’ pedestrian zone, starting from De Brouckère. All the businesses along the central avenues are joining forces for this initiative. The goal of this action is not just to clean the streets but also to raise awareness of the environmental impact of street litter.
What is World Cleanup Day?
World Cleanup Day originated in Estonia in 2008 and has meanwhile developed into a global event involving volunteers from over 180 countries. It’s not just about cleaning but primarily about raising awareness: by cleaning their surroundings, people learn to recognise the impact of their own litter, encouraging them to adopt a more sustainable attitude towards waste. The international initiative World Cleanup Day calls on people from across the globe to clean up street litter on the same day.
Together
By participating in this event, VIAGE wants to emphasise the importance of taking responsibility for the public space and contributing to a cleaner and healthier living environment. As this is a joint neighbourhood initiative, working for a cleaner city fosters a stronger sense of community and makes the neighbourhood more liveable. As such this initiative helps to generate a positive impact on both the environment and the people that are a part of it. Together we can create a greener future!
