October swings, rocks and dances

October swings, rocks and dances

As autumn paints Brussels golden, The Viage gives October a musical glow. From groovy Americana to timeless British prog, from disco fever to football fireworks, this month will take you on a musical journey through five decades of pop history. Add the Red Devils nights to the mix and one thing’s for certain: VIAGE is singing, swinging and cheering louder than ever.

Swinging swamp rock

On 10 October, Theatre The Viage will erupt with the raw energy of Clearwater Creedence Revival. Don’t expect dusty nostalgia but a tight, high-octane tribute to the iconic sound of the original CCR. The British all-star band, featuring Peter Barton, who fronted The Animals for fifteen years, will deliver ninety minutes of bayou blues and swamp rock, packed with classics like Proud Mary and Born on the Bayou. While Clearwater Creedence Revival puts a British spin on John Fogerty’s gritty originals, the energy stays just as raw and authentic. Keep On Chooglin’ – keep on groovin’ – was Fogerty’s motto and it still holds true.

Red passion on the big screen

If you’re more into goals than guitar riffs, head to the Cinna Bar that same evening for a Red Devils Night. While Clearwater own the stage, the Red Devils will be battling it out in their first qualifying match against North Macedonia. The clash with Wales comes three days later. The Red Devils Nights blend sport, fan passion and that cosy Belgian atmosphere. As the matches on the big screen give you goosebumps, you can enjoy a sharing platter full of treats, drinks and a free fan gift. The atmosphere is guaranteed because at VIAGE every fan feels like they’re in the final.

Saturday Night Fever on Wednesday

On 15 October, the theatre will be buzzing once again. Tree Gees will deliver a fiery Bee Gees tribute, complete with flawless harmonies, disco balls spinning in your mind and a live show that catapults you straight back to the seventies. Think Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, You Should Be Dancing – all perfect for burning up the dance floor. This quartet of top Italian musicians has captivated audiences worldwide with their own distinctive touch. They capture the spirit of the Bee Gees while preserving their own artistic identity. What’s more, the Tree Gees have also written original material, including the Christmas track Love Me at Christmas, featured in the film Christmas in Love with Danny DeVito. Their background as composers and arrangers brings an extra layer of depth to their tribute.

The voice of melancholy

Two days later, on 17 October, Justin Hayward will take the stage. The iconic singer, guitarist and songwriter of The Moody Blues is giving a rare solo performance in Brussels. Raised in Swindon with a guitar in hand, Hayward became the heart of the band in 1966. His music is a time machine spanning six decades of musical history. He guides the audience through iconic ballads like Nights in White Satin, while also sharing his personal favourites and hidden gems. Warm and melancholic as ever, his voice still hits all the right notes.

Genesis reinvented

The Music of Genesis will close out the month on 23 October. Collectively known as The Farm, five German musicians dive deep into Genesis’ work from 1976 to 1980, the pivotal period after Peter Gabriel’s departure, when Phil Collins became the new frontman and the band underwent a musical evolution. Don’t expect a greatest hits set but a journey through forgotten gems like Blood on the Rooftops and Duke’s Travels. The band focuses on sound, atmosphere and precision. That’s why they deliberately chose this transitional period, where Genesis’ experimental spirit blended with melodic masterpieces. The result is a unique experience for seasoned fans. With a frontman whose voice instantly recalls Collins and a live band that lets every note shine, their performance is guaranteed to give the fans goosebumps.

Order your tickets now because at VIAGE every evening counts as a headline act.
