Almost every Friday night is reserved for talented female artists who will unleash their unique sound upon the heart of our nation’s capital.
Whether you’re into soul, funk, jazz, Latin or pop - the CINNA Bar has something for everyone. Let the versatility of these strong female artists surprise you and enjoy live music in an atmospheric setting: four nights, four unique voices!
Hybrid pop
Maeva’s enchanting voice takes the audience on an emotional and charming voyage. Whether in French or English, her deep, soulful voice will touch the very heart of you. As an experienced artist and former backing vocalist for legendary Belgian singer Zap Mama, she offers an impressive repertoire. Maeva accompanies herself on guitar, lending her performances an intimate and warm atmosphere.
Maeva Fiston, better known under her nom d’artiste MPLI, is a Belgian singer/songwriter and performer with Belgian, Rwandan and Guadeloupean roots. She grew up in the province of Hainaut in a house that was always filled with music. At the age of six she started music theory and learned to play the flute. She also took modern dance lessons, which deepened her love of the stage. During her teenage years Maeva found solace in writing lyrics and she learned to play the guitar to accompany her own songs. Her music is characterised by a hybrid pop style and influenced by pop, the French chanson, folk and hip hop, with lyrics that often explore relationships and personal experiences. With her soulful voice and an eclectic mix of genres, she remains a striking presence on the Belgian music scene.
Authentic soul and jazz
Brussels-based artist JAZMYN serves up a singular blend of jazz, soul, funk and R&B. Her rough-edged velvety voice turns every single track into a memorable experience. Together with her band she takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that will have you laughing, crying and dancing. Authentic, nostalgic and steeped in groove – that’s JAZMYN in a nutshell. Her candour and charm transform every concert into an unforgettable experience.
As a child JAZMYN became fascinated with such artists as TLC, Beyoncé, Lauryn Hill and Ella Fitzgerald, which shaped her taste in music. In 2014 she moved to London to study at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, where she honed her vocal skills and discovered the importance of collaboration with other musicians. Upon her return in Belgium she continued her training at the Jazz Studio, where she became enamoured with neo soul. In 2018 JAZMYN started writing her own personal and emotional songs, often composed on a tenor ukelele in her apartment in the Marollen neighbourhood. Her music is an honest expression of deep, complex feelings and her live performances with her band are a must-see for authentic soul and jazz enthusiasts.
Funky soul and Latin rhythms
Straight from Brazil to the CINNA Bar: TAI. This Brazilian singer/songwriter and poet currently resides in Belgium and performs an effervescent mix of soul, funky beats and Latin rhythms. Her repertoire consists of both original compositions and interpretations of Brazilian classics, interweaving her poetic lyrics with compelling melodies. TAI’s charismatic stage presence and profound connection with her Brazilian roots mesmerise her audience as they embark on a musical journey that touches the soul.
Her music is a celebration of life, as perfectly illustrated by her latest EP Presente. In addition to original songs, TAI also performs covers in Portuguese, Spanish and English. Surrender to TAI’s energy and warm sound in the intimate setting of the CINNA Bar.
Pop, urban grooves and African rhythms
On Valentine’s night the CINNA Bar has the pleasure of welcoming the talented Sudyla, an artist who adopts a cosmopolitan style. The Franco-Belgian singer with roots in Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde was born in Courcouronnes, France, as Sudyla Sane. She spent her teenage years in Lisbon and currently resides in Brussels.
Her music style is a dynamic mix of Afrobeat, pop and urban grooves in which she weaves her many-faceted cultural background. With her sultry voice and charismatic podium presence, Sudyla enthrals her audience as they embark on a musical journey of discovery through African rhythms and modern sounds. Modern beats and traditional influences meet in a cauldron of pop, urban grooves and African rhythms. In 2024 Sudyla released the single ‘Feeling’, which emphasises her unique style and artistic vision. The track combines infectious beats and gripping melodies, showcasing her talent as a singer and songwriter.
